Wandin is a township in the Yarra Valley which boasts an array of beautiful gardens, lavender farms, historic landmarks, accommodation and many fruit orchards.

Wandin is also one of the major shopping hubs in this region. Wandin’s vibrant shopping precinct boasts a number of specialty stores, boutique shops and restaurants.

Wandin had a well-developed railway transport system connecting to all major cities and tourist destinations. The town’s first railway station was opened in 1901. However, the station was closed in 1965 and still remains non-functional.

Wandin boasts an array of tourist attractions including the Warratina Lavender Farm and the Katandra Native plant Garden. In addition, Wandin boasts a number of fruit orchards and a popular winery known as the Wild Cattle Creek Winery. Those visiting the farms and orchards can pick some fresh produce direct from the farmer.

Visitors to Wandin can also take a trip to the Katandra Gardens which is known for its exotic plants and its excellent collection of Australian wildflowers. Spring is the best time to visit as you will be able to see the blossoming flowers within this beautiful setting. While in Wandin, visit the historic mansion; Mont De Lancey. This mansion built in 1880 is one of the most admired landmarks in the town.
