Don Valley is a beautiful town nestled about 70kms east from Melbourne. Renowned for its extensive dairy farms and agricultural industries, this small township is a prime residential hub in the Yarra Valley.

Don Valley belongs to the Shire of Yarra Ranges and boasts a population of just over 500 people. Public amenities in this town include a number of parks, an archery park, primary school and recreation areas.

Don Valley is so close to Healesville, that visitors must make sure to visit Healesville Sanctuary. Healesville Sanctuary is one of Australia’s most loved zoo attractions and houses thousands of Australian animals where visitors can get up close to these magnificent animals in a uniquely Australian bush setting. With a focus on conservation, the Sanctuary is committed to fighting wildlife extinction and promotes sustainability within the park. There are many animal exhibits that visitors can see, as well as wildlife shows and keeper demonstrations which are FREE with the cost of your admission.

Mt. Donna Buang is also an attraction very close to Don Valley. Drive up to the summit and see the 21-metre high lookout tower which offers panoramic views over Melbourne and the Yarra Valley. It is also the starting point for many of the walks on the mountain. There is also a picnic area located here which has BBQ’s, picnic tables and toilets.
